What is the Best Decision?
Before we can dive into making the best decisions, let’s talk about what they actually are.
What are the best decisions?
It might sound like a straightforward question, but how do you define if a decision is good or bad?

Well, the answer is, it depends.
What might be the best decision for you, might be the complete opposite for someone else.
And what might have been a good choice yesterday, might be outdated today.
And maybe what you choose today might be good today, but bad tomorrow.
So, what exactly is the best decision in any given situation in life and how do you make it?
The best decision is one that aligns with your inner truth and takes you toward long-term peace, joy and fulfillment. It might not be the easiest decision to make and follow through on in the moment, but in the long term, it will always allow you to raise your level of consciousness and find lasting inner peace.
How do you Make the Best Decisions in Life and Business?
Oftentimes in life, you’ll find yourself at a crossroads where you can only choose one path forward.
These are the moments and choices that you know will shape the rest of your life, or at least the foreseeable future.

To prepare, you might do research, weigh the pros and cons, and talk to friends, colleagues and people who are where you want to go.
And perhaps the path forward is still not clear.
Perhaps everyone gave you different answers and you’re still stuck at square one.
Or worse yet, perhaps everyone gave you the same practical and intellectually sound answer, but no one gave you the answer you were hoping to hear.
So, what do you do?
Here’s where my 4-Step Failproof Method to Making the Best Decisions in Life and Business comes in.
The 4-Step Failproof Method to Making the Best Decisions in Life and Business
The best decisions aren’t always the ones that are the most rational.
In fact, most people who leave a lasting impact on the world do not walk the beaten path – they don’t make the same choices the people around them make or the people before them made.
They break the mould of society and make decisions based on what is in their hearts – not what is logical or practical or smart – rather, what matters to them.
All the details might not be crystal clear in the beginning, but if you are making a decision based on what is in your heart, trust that the path will become clear as you begin to walk.

The 4-Step Failproof Method to Making the Best Decisions in Life and Business will walk you through reconnecting with and learning to trust your intuition so it can guide you forward on the journey of life.
Step 1) Create your safe space
When you’re out in the world, consciously or unconsciously, you have your guard up. You’re protecting yourself mentally, emotionally and energetically.
Your safe space is an intentionally created space where you already know you’re safe. Here, you can let your guard down and allow your authentic self to shine through. There’s no threat of verbal, energetic or emotional abuse in your safe space.
Ideally, this space is at home so the place where you physically rest is also the place where you can mentally and energetically rest.
Make this a sacred space, clean and free of stressful triggers, a place where you can go to disengage from the world and find deep rest.
Along with your safe space, allot time for yourself to disconnect from all engagements and responsibilities and just be.

Step 2) Express yourself
When you’re in your safe space, do not continue consuming mindlessly. Leave any temptations to do so outside of your space.
Think of your mind like a tunnel. On one end of the tunnel is your inner light. It’s pure, peaceful and wise. It only wants the best for you and the people around you. On the other side of the tunnel is the outer world.
When the tunnel is empty, your inner light shines out into the outer world unobstructed. Communication from your inner light is called intuition.
When your mind tunnel is full of mind-stuff such as ideas, thoughts, memories, concepts, judgements, fears, self-limiting beliefs, etc., your inner light in blocked.
When you consume things in the outer world—and I don’t just mean social media—you add to the blockages in your tunnel and this is when you feel disconnected, directionless and stuck in life.
The key to reconnecting with your intuition is emptying out your inner tunnel.
When you first start this process, your mind might be a noisy place and that’s okay.
Instead of drowning out the inner noise with more noise, use mediums such as music, art, or free-form dance to express the emotions and energy that is lingering in your mind-tunnel. If you’re not sure what medium is the best fit for you, start with journaling.
When you allow what’s inside to come out, you start to empty out your mind tunnel and clear the path for your inner light to shine through.

Step 3) Meditate
Most people have trouble meditating because their mind is too noisy.
That’s to say: there’s too much stuff in their mind tunnel–it’s not letting them have a single moment of peace.
As you get into the practice of journalling and expressing yourself through art, music and dance, you’ll find that gradually, the mind tunnel becomes emptier and quieter.
Amplify the effects of your self-expression and stop overthinking with meditation.
In meditation, you allow your body and mind to come to a complete halt for some time.
This is the fastest and most effective way to reconnect with your intuition so you can start making the best decisions in life and business.

Step 4) Let your Intuition Guide you
Your intuition is your inner compass.
It’s easy to get caught up in the outer world and lose sight of your purpose in life. Meditation and self-expression will keep you grounded, help you reconnect with your inner compass and start making the best decisions in life.
Once your mind tunnel is clear and clutter-free, decision-making will become effortless.

Concluding Thoughts
If you’re sitting on the cusp of a decision and still wondering how to make the best decision, pick the one that feels right to you.
Let go of what the outer world is telling you to do, put yourself in a completely different frame of mind where you can take a small break from thinking about the decision you have to make (for example by sitting in the Free 30-Minute Yoga Class I shared above) and then come back to the decision with a fresh mind.
Once you’ve eliminated outside influences, you’ll be able to have a clearer idea of which option is the best one for you.
Listen to your gut and don’t doubt yourself later on.
Once the decision is made, if you feel like you should’ve chosen the other option, wait it out. Sometimes this is just fear and your ego trying to keep you safe. This feeling is especially common if you chose to go against the grain and listen to your heart rather than what society expects of you.
If it’s been a little while and you can’t shake the feeling that you made the wrong decision, sit with this feeling. If the feeling is coming from inside rather than from external pressure, then it’s time to pivot.
Either way, any decision is better than staying stuck with a decision hanging over your head.
